Fundsy Gala Thanks!

This post comes a little past-due, but in the June 3rd issue of the Idaho Statesman, Diane found an entire page devoted to thanking the contributors/sponsors for this year's Fundsy Gala.  Prism Quartet and the Meridian Symphony (on whose behalf we performed) were listed!  Below are pictures of the Idaho Statesman spread.  If you like, you can click on the images to see them full size.

 I put a little red star next to our name; there were a lot of contributors to this event! We are proud to be listed on Fundsy's page of thanks.  Thank YOU, Fundsy, for the opportunity to perform!  Hopefully we can do it again next year.

Past Performance Updates!

From now on, we would like to keep you updated about quartet news and about our performances!  We can't promise we will always be able to post every performance here, but we will do our best.  :)  The performances in this post are from past months, but we felt like sharing anyway!  After today, check our homepage to keep up-to-date on where we are performing and what is new in our quartet!

Today, we had the privilege of performing at Fundsy's 45th Annual Fund-Raising Gala at the beautiful Riverside Hotel.

Fundsy is a "nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1967 for the purpose of raising funds for charitable and community capital improvement projects" (http://www.fundsy.org/about-fundsy).  They hold an annual gala dinner where they have silent and live auctions to raise money for their projects.

Prism Quartet was asked to play on behalf of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra (the orchestra of which we are all members).  We performed outside on a perfect evening while the crowd of well-dressed attendees enjoyed drinks and conversation.  We performed a mostly classical song set, but they let us throw in one of our favorite pieces, the Tango Chromatique, for fun. 

Though we didn't get any pictures this time, we will do our best to get photos of our future performance engagements.

Today, we performed our first recital!  We have so much fun music, we decided to put on a recital where we could pick our favorite pieces from our repertoire and perform for our family and friends.

It was a success!  We all brought food and invited our friends for our 1:00 performance.  It was a tremendous amount of work to prepare this recital, but we had a great time and enjoyed sharing our special musical picks with our audience.  We will definitely do this again!

Summer Time = Quartet Time!

With the weather warm and beautiful and summer upon us, it is the perfect season to hire a string quartet to perform at your wedding (for this summer OR the next - you can never book a quartet too far in advance!), garden party, birthday party, or other special event!

Whether you need light background music or a saucy main-event performance, we can perform inside OR outside, depending on your needs.  We just need an area about 10 feet by 10 feet to make room for our chairs, instruments, and stands, and outside we need a shady area to perform (extreme temperatures can damage our instruments).  Give us a few weeks of advance notice if you need us to prepare specific pieces, or choose from our repertoire list to pick your perfect playlist for your event!  You can even tell us "I want some light, springy music" and we can make that happen for you.
